K-O2 Concentrator

The KO2 is designed to deliver oxygen in the challenging environments of low-income countries. The goal was to maintain simplicity in both technical and visual solutions. As the lead on the display and UI development, Katrin aimed to ensure that critical information could be understood at a glance. Based on user research, she decided to implement iconography to improve readability across multiple languages. The design underwent numerous cycles of user testing and is currently being tested in Kenya and Uganda.

The KO2 has been recognized with the Red Dot Design Award, the Good Design Award, and received an honorary mention at the Fast Company Innovation by Design Awards.
